I practice only in the Judicial Districts of Hartford, New Britain, Tolland (Rockville), and Middlesex (Middletown) and represent clients throughout these counties. Contact or call me to schedule an appointment Divorce and Legal Separation - I advise clients regarding all the legal matters that arise when a marriage is dissolved, including custody, property distribution, child support and spousal support (alimony). I also counsel clients who wish to obtain a legal separation. I strive to settle divorce matters without going to trial, as that often protects my clients from undue stress and can save my clients time and money, I recognize, however, that mediation and negotiation are not always successful. As a result, I thoroughly prepare every case for trial in case it becomes necessary. Child Support - The State of Connecticut or other states, has a formula for determining child support based on parents' combined net incomes. I understand the child support guidelines and have the experience to calculate a mother's or father's child support obligation, whether derived from a salaried occupation, wages, bonuses and commissions, or from self-employment. Custody and Visitation Rights - I represent clients who seek custody arrangements and parenting access schedules that are favorable to them and in the best interests of their minor children. Post- Judgment Matters - I provide legal representation to former clients and new clients seeking to modify existing divorce, support, custody, and visitation orders. Pre-nuptial Agreements- - I draft and review pre-nuptial contracts and litigate enforceability issues arising out of pre-nuptial agreements. Mediation and Collaborative Law - Mediation is a voluntary, confidential process that empowers couples to negotiate their own divorce agreements, with the guidance of a neutral mediator. I have extensive experience mediating family conflicts. This entails organizing the discussion and the collection of information, helping the couple identify issues and common interests, and exploring options. I facilitate negotiations to reach a mutually acceptable agreement. For some clients, collaborative divorce may be a suitable alternative to the litigation process or to mediation. Collaborative divorce is a non-adversarial process whereby parties and their respective counsel commit to resolving disputes without resorting to litigation.
